Betsy, Betsy was a cow he had bought from a cow auction when he was 8 years old, Betsy had been carrying a baby calf for what’s seemed like ages and the farmer knew she would be giving birth any day now. Once the farmer cared for Betsy he called it a day and went home to get ready for dinner. But unknowingly to the farmer a storm was bruin. He watched as the storm worsened, knowing Betsy was distressed he grabbed a rain jacket and a flashlight and booked it her way. He hopped the fence and the first thing he say was Betsy under a oak tree that has been standing tall for generations. She was giving birth under that tree and after 15 minutes of agonizing pain the new born calf was welcomed into the world. The farmer, exhausted and thrilled sat down with the calf and named him Freyr meaning the god of rain and sunlight.
